I recently watched Casino. I have seen the movie before, but it was a long, long time ago. It came out in 1995, when to be honest Robert De Niro was doing his best work with movie titles Heat, Ronin and Cape Fear a few years earlier.

The film is shot in Las Vegas where Sam 'Ace' Rothstein (De Niro) runs a legitimate casino. Coming from a mob background Sam and Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) find themselves trying to make it big in the city that never sleeps.

The movie is roughly 3 hours long and for such a long film it was terrific. Long films can sometimes be drawn out and not very appealing at all, but this movie is quite the opposite. My favorite part of the movie is when Robert De Niro is talking to someone in the bar and a gentlemen bumps him by accident. After the gentlemen insults Robert De Niro numerous time, Robert De Niro just rubs it off his shoulder. Joe Pesci however cannot remain as calm and grabs a pen the man is holding and stabs him to death.

I wouldn't hesitate to give this movie an 8/10. It is very well directed and the acting is superb.
